Sponsoring the International Symposium on VLSI Technology, Systems and Applications

The International Symposium on VLSI Technology, Systems and Applications is one of the leading international conferences dedicated to promoting the electronic information technology of Taiwan. The conference also seeks to enhance scientific research and industrial technology exchanges between Taiwan and other countries. Winbond has enthusiastically sponsored and supported the symposium to a very successful end; the event has inspired additional IC business technology exchange opportunities for the future.  

This association was co-sponsored by Lucent Technology, which is based in the United States; and Industrial Technology Research Institute and Institute for Information Industry , both based in Taiwan. This entity was established with the legal aid of Lee & Li Attorneys at Law. The main goals of this association is to establish an intellectual property database, provide an intellectual property information consultation services that improve the management of intellectual property, science and technology development in Taiwan and help local enterprises establish standardized regulations for intellectual property. The other objectives of the foundation is to assist the intellectual property information center in Taiwan in becoming a major resource for the entire Asia/Pacific region and to strengthen economic and trade relationships between Taiwan and other Asia/Pacific countries. Winbond has always devoted a great deal of attention and resources to intellectual property. Since Winbond's involvement with the foundation began in June 1994, it has participated in various activities including helping to set up the intellectual property information center, visiting overseas intellectual property organizations to learn about various promotional strategies and participating in international intellectual property related conferences to facilitate international exchange. The Corporation has also cooperated with other intellectual property organizations, working to establish the intellectual property exchange functions and arranging intellectual property related conferences to disseminate information on local and overseas intellectual property management. Finally, Winbond has made financial contributions and helped to set up professional awards for overseas study for those wishing to pursue higher education. The Company also sponsors awards for intellectual property thesis.
