Sponsoring Hong's Foundation for Education and Culture "Music and Life" Series Lectures

Over the past twenty years, The Hong's Foundation for Education and Culture has been dedicated to promoting and furthering music education. For years, the Foundation has arranged a popular music lecture series and promoted music appreciation. The Foundation has endeavored to change a commonly held belief that classical music is too complex to be appreciated by most people by widely introducing theory of music and music appreciation. It is the Foundation's hope that anyone with the desire can learn how music exerts a subtle yet profound influence on people's lives and how music can improve the very quality of life.   

Reconstructing Fish Pond Primary School after the Major Earthquake of September 21, 1999

Major earthquake hits Taiwan. Winbond donates fifteen million NT dollars and the donation is put to use in a reconstruction fund to rebuild the damaged Fish Pond Primary School.
