Winbond Electronics Corporation, a leading supplier of semiconductor solutions, today announced the rollout of two new two digital camera solutions and embedded digital image capture module products using the Company's MCP (Multi Chip Package) design. The W99682 feature 350 thousand (VGA) and one million and 300 thousand pixels (1.3M) respectively. The 350 thousand pixels contains 8MB SDRAM, which provide the capability of taking approximately 120 pictures. The chip also enables the camera to record video and Web camera and provides TV output functions. The main chips of VGA solution are: Image-processing W99682 + 64KB EPROM W27C520 + 4bit uC W742C81A + 8MB SDRAM offers video capability. Winbond chips provide the highest video quality, product stability and integration; giving customers a complete digital camera solution.
Another chip option, the image-processing W99682 + 8bit uC W77E65 + 4bit uC W742C81A + 8MB SDRAM, features one million three hundred pixels, contains 16MB Flash, and gives the camera the capability of taking approximately 60 pictures. It also features USB Mass Storage, Burst captures, Web camera, TV output and flash light functions.
In addition, because market demand for video input capability continues to grow, Winbond Electronics has taken the step of providing OEMs with a embedded digital video capture module. As part of combining the technical strengths of the Company's Logic and Memory products, Winbond has leveraged its MCP technology by combining its video processing chip, SDRM and Flash into and three-in-one SOP (System On Package). This has created an ultra small video input module with SD, CF, USB interface and ISP (In-system programming) system rewrite functions. Because of its small footprint and high integration, the chip is ideal for Digital camera, Digital photo frame, Web camera, Remote monitor system, Surveillance, Security system, PDAs and Cell phone applications.
