Winbond launches highly integrated general 32-bit single chip W90P710/W90N745 and a comprehensive development proposal to reduce product development time of system houses; thus assisting clients get into the market quickly. W90P710/W90N745 makes use of RISC Processor's ARM® high-performance 32-bit ARM7TDMI core with built-in Ethernet MAC. W90P710/W90N745 also integrates USB 1.1 Host/Device Controller to have the applications connected to various computer accessories through the USB interface, giving overall added value to the product.
Winbond has accumulated much ability in microprocessor design and SoC integration. Due to the strong demand of clients, Winbond has acquired authorization of ARM® to launch a highly integrated general single chip W90P710/W90N745 and an overall solution proposal, as well as a complete series of SoC proposals to satisfy the long-term product plans of clients.
Low cost and high performance
Winbond's W90P710/W90N745 makes use of the ARM7TDMI microprocessor core of ARM® and 0.18um production to achieve standard operation at 80MHz. 176-Pin/128-Pin LQPF packing is also used to save electricity and lower costs. The built-in 4KBytes I-Cache and 4KBytes D-Cache of W90P710/W90N745 can also be set as On-Chip RAM according to the needs of product developers.
W90P710/W90N745 integrates the highly flexible EBI (External Bus Interface) interface, and various I/O components such as ROM, Flash, SDRAM, and PCMCIA Cards can be taken by EBI. W90P710 also contains the high resolution TFT, STN LCD controller to support the display. Apart from USB and EBI, W90P710/W90N745 also has four groups of UART interfaces for connection with more facilities during the clients' design of various applications, such as barcode scanner, VFD panel, debugging and Bluetooth®, etc.
With regards to system integration, other than POS (Point-Of-Sale) application, W90P710 is also suitable for data collector, digital picture frame and products with LCD displays, whereas W90N745 is suitable for network-related applications such as switch management, IP cameras, VoIP and printer servers.
