Winbond is proud to introduce the W541 series of home appliance microcontrollers, which provide a typical solution for use in home appliances such as remote controllers, thermometers, pedometers etc. The user experience is made even more convenient through the code programming and editing features.
The W541 series single-chip solution utilizes the original W741 infrastructure technology, enabling program developers to re-use their original development environments and programming code structures. This will allow developers to reduce development time and bring products to market ahead of their competitors. The operating environment for this product is Windows TM 2000/XP, and mass production is available for the English language version that is currently being provided.
The newly introduced W541C480/W541E480 is a low-power and low-noise microcontroller that can be used in various battery-driven products and low-power applications. Various technological advantages lower the total power consumption to a minimal level and preserve battery lifespan; the LCD is directly driven and the built-in charge pump improves the display results in low-voltage operating environments. The internal protection circuitry is also improved, fulfilling operating requirements for home appliances that require high resistance to interference. An enhanced product with 4K*16 of ROM and 256*4 of RAM will be introduced after the W541C/E260H product series.
The W541C480/W541E480 chip solution can be applied to a broad range of applications and products, e.g. automatic counters, gas and water meters, health care instruments, thermometers, and weight scales. In addition, home use remote controls, dehumidifiers, temperature controllers, timers, and digital meters/watches can all benefit from this IC chip series. Furthermore, the IC can also be integrated into e-books, toys, and other entertainment products.
Winbond also provides a Flash version to simplify the programming and code updating process. This provides the system providers the ability to verify their product before moving forward with customization manufacturing, resulting in optimal solutions with full flexibility.
