(HsinChu, Taiwan) Winbond Electronics Corporation today announced that the Company has been reintroduced its EPROMs, EEPROMs, Flash memories, Embedded Flash memories, Flash microcontroller semiconductor devices. Winbond's non-volatile memory products can be widely used in memory modules and circuit boards containing Winbond ICs, personal computers, industrial controllers and consumer electronics, such as CD-ROMs and DVD players. Winbond believes its non-volatile memory product line will be a key mover for this re-introduction and anticipates the growth in sales as a positive sign for revenue and margin.
Winbond is in the process of notifying its customers of the September 15th, 2001 expiration date of the exclusion order regarding Winbond's EPROMs, EEPROMs, Flash memories, Flash microcontroller semiconductor devices and modules. After one week's verification, the company announces that the restriction has indeed been lifted. Winbond has been able to export its NVM devices to the U.S., and will assist customers in verifying any related customs procedures.
