Subsequent to an earthquake of 6.8 magnitude that struck Taiwan on March 31 2002, Winbond Electronics Corporation today issued the following report on the status of Company facilities.
1. No personnel injuries were sustained during the quake.
2. All buildings, plant facilities, computer-integrated manufacturing systems and IT networks are intact. All power, water, gas, and chemical supply lines are operating normally.
3.Fab 1 and Fab 2 are back to normal operation. Some machines in Fab 4 and 5 sustained slight losses however, the Company has enough spares in reserve to replace the damage so production operation has already resumed. Overall, 85% of normal throughput can be expected within one
