(Taipei news) Winbond Electronics Corporation held its temporary Board Meeting which approved the executive organizational change on May 2nd, 2008. Mr. In-Shek Hsu titled as the present President is transferred to Chairman’s office to serve as the deputy CEO superintending both consumer logic IC business group and computer logic IC business group and reporting to CEO directly. Mr. Ching-Chu Chang, meanwhile, is elected as the President taking charge of three business groups of DRAM product, memory IC manufacturing, and flash memory IC and other operation units. Mr. Wilson Wen is promoted from Vice President to Executive Vice President. He will continue being responsible for Memory IC Manufacturing Business Group, Administrative Service Center, and further assisting President in managing related operation activities. This designation will come into effect on May 2nd, 2008.
Mr. Ching-Chu Chang, who received bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University; master degree in Management Science from Stanford University; Ph.D degree in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University, is knowledgeable about the semiconductor industry. When he took over the presidency from 1999 to 2005, Mr. Chang devoted himself to building management system, cultivating professional talents, and contributing to the operation growth of memory business. Thereafter, Mr. Chang has been appointed as the deputy CEO that responsible for the vital fields included technology developing, knowledge and finance management to reinforce Winbond’s operating ability and competitiveness. Thanks to his abundant knowledge and acquaintance of company operation, Mr. Chang retakes the position of president and is expected to lead Winbond to a brand-new future.
This designation received the unanimous support by the Board of Directors in the meeting. The new team is ready to lead Winbond to the new prospects in the future.
