Winbond Electronics Corporation, a leading supplier of semiconductor solutions, today announced revenue results for the month of April 2005. Revenue for the month was NT1.914 billion, an increase of 1.11 percent, when compared to NT 1.894 billion in the previous month.
Winbond's Memory product performance in April was still affected by the soft price in the DRAM market. In terms of Logic products, Speech ICs yielded good sales results due to the seasonal demand, and thus April revenue increased slightly when compared to last month.
Looking forward to the second quarter, as the inventory adjustment of mobile memory products is about to come to an end and customer orders have begun to pick up, production capacity is expected to increase. In addition, after acquiring the intellectual property and assets of National Semiconductor's Advanced PC Division, the high-end mixed mode signal, I/O and other related products will contribute to the revenue starting in May. As a whole, the Company expects a continuous increase in monthly revenue.
