(Taipei News) Winbond Electronics Corporation today announced the revenue results for the month of April, 2008. Revenue for the month was NT$ 2.123 billion, a decrease of approximately 3.02 percent when compared with NT$ 2.19 billion in the previous month. Accumulated revenue for January to April of 2008 was NT$ 8.692 billion, a decrease of nearly 28.57 percent when compared with NT$ 12.168 billion over the same period in 2007.
In terms of Logic products, the sales of some Speech ICs such as Power Speech grew with the Consumer Logic products gradually entering the traditional hot season. The Computer Logic products performed steadily during the normal slow season and the monthly revenue was in line with the expectation. In terms of Memory products, even though the increasing market demand of Serial Flash increased its revenue, the overall memory revenue performed equally as last month due to the effect of the low price of DRAM.
Looking forward to the beginning of second quarter, the demand of Logic Products may increase gradually, while due to the slack price of DRAM market, the overall revenue of next month is conservative.
