Hsinchu, Taiwan, Feb.07, 2017- Winbond Electronics Corporation today announced business performance for the second half of 2016 and annual revenue of 2016. On a consolidated basis including members of Winbond Electronics Corp. and Nuvoton Technology Corp. etc., net sales in the second half of 2016 were NT$21.508 billion. Gross margin was 28%. Net income attributable to shareholders of the parent for the second half was NT$1.480 billion; earning per share was NT$0.41. Consolidated annual revenue totaled NT$42.092 billion; net income attributable to shareholders of the parent was NT$2.898 billion; earning per share in 2016 was NT$0.81.
As far as memory business is concerned, revenue from Specialty DRAM accounted for 49% of annual net sales. The Specialty DRAM revenue was up 3% YoY due to improved product and customer mix. Revenue from Mobile DRAM accounted for 14% of annual net sales, up 30% YoY due to growth of tier-1 customers in handheld application. Revenue from Flash Memory accounted for 37% of annual net sales, up 11% YoY mainly due to expanding business in SLC NAND Flash.
