Winbond Announces Monthly Revenue for February

(Taipei News) Winbond Electronics Corporation today announced the revenue results for the month of February, 2008. Revenue for the month was NT$ 1.794 billion and a decrease of approximately 20.76 percent when compared with the total IC sales revenue of NT$2.263 billion in the previous month. Accumulated revenue for January to February of 2008 was NT$ 4.379 billion, a decrease of nearly 34.23 percent when compared with NT$ 6.658 billion over the same period in 2007.

The revenue of this month decreased because of the early order before Chinese New Year holidays, fewer working days in February, and the snowstorm impact on the end market demand in Mainland China. In terms of Logic products, the low season effect of consumer and computer products continued which caused a demand decrease. As to Memory products, even though the market price has stopped dropping, it is still at low level. The shipment of this month also decreased when compared with last month.

As a whole, the revenue is conservative due to the low season effect in the first quarter.
