Add Multi-layer Authentication to Existing Designs with W25R
The W25R authentication flash integrates Replay Protection Monotonic Counter (RPMC) technology directly into standard QSPI NOR Flash, creating the simplest path for system designers to upgrade security. By retaining the standard SPI interface, it ensures full compatibility with existing controllers while serving as a pin-compatible enhancement. This allows for a true "drop-in" replacement of standard flash, enabling immediate security upgrades for IoT, mobile, and industrial applications without the need for hardware redesign.
Replay Protection Monotonic Counter (RPMC)
RPMC verifies integrity and authenticity using secure timestamps. This creates a highly secure link between the flash and controller, significantly reducing the risk of hardware attacks.
HMAC-SHA-256
Hardware accelerator for robust, industry-standard cryptographic authentication.
Multi-layered security management
Features four independent 32-bit monotonic counters, each authenticated by its own unique 256-bit Root Key. This architecture empowers multiple entities, such as chipset vendors, OEMs, and software providers, to independently manage their own distinct security layers on a single device.
