Winbond Monthly Revenue Report For July, 2000

(Taipei News) Winbond Electronics Corporation today announced internal auditing revenue results for July 2000. Revenue for the month of July 2000, was NT $5.24 billion, a noteworthy increase of 189.6 percent when compared with NT $1.81 billion over the same period last year. The accumulated revenue of January to July 2000 totaled approximately NT $26.5 billion, an increase of 79 percent when compared with the accumulated total revenue of NT$14.8 billion over the same period last year. 

Monthly revenue results for Winbond Electronics for the first half of 2000 have consistently set new financial records for the Company.This past month broke all recent records, however, with a reported historic high of NT $5.24 billion.The main factors contributing to this latest record-breaking month included a unit increase in the pricing of DRAM products as well as a gradual increase in the Company's production capacity.Both of these factors have contributed significantly to overall revenue growth of the Company.?Within the Company's General IC Business Group, seasonal demand for speech ICs resulted in a considerable increase in sales.In addition, the Company's CD-ROM ICs and microcontroller products also made excellent gains due to increased demand from customers and an expanding array of applications. 

Winbond anticipates in the second half of the year, traditionally the high season for the semiconductor industry, that the Company will continue to experience both increased revenues and solid profits due to the launching of new products and continued expansion in the Company's production capacity.
