Winbond Electronics Corporation, a leading supplier of semiconductor solutions, today announced revenue results for the month of April 2004. Revenue for the month was approximately NT 3.046 billion, an increase of 1 percent when compared with NT 3.011 billion the previous month.
The slight increase was due to a production capacity limitation in April that did not allow the company to fulfill all order demands. Therefore, the company has strategized to actively adjust its product mix to create the most advantageous combination by focusing on higher yielding products to promote better profit for the company.
At the present time, the outlook on the Mobile RAM market demand is promising, as witnessed by increased shipments of the higher yielding Specialty DRAMs and Pseudo SRAMs. In terms of logic business, the demand for consumer products and network access products are also strong. After Winbond's adjustment of its product mix towards higher yielding products, a better performance in earnings is expected in the coming months.
