Winbond Electronics Corporation, a leading supplier of semiconductor solutions, today announced revenue results for the month of May 2004. Revenue for the month was approximately NT 2.964 billion, a decrease of 4.82 percent when compared with NT 3.114 billion the previous month.
The slight decrease was due to the traditional slow season of memory products in the second quarter. The slower season caused market demand for Specialty DRAMs to decrease, thus revenue from memory products reduced slightly this month. However, market demand is expected to pick up again as we enter the traditional peak season in the third quarter.
As with Logic products, the market performance of consumer electronic products and personal computer & peripheral ICs remained steady. With production capacity producing at its maximum, revenue from Logic products this month mirrored that of last month. Overall, the company upheld steady revenue in the second quarter and profitability increased.
