(Taipei News) Winbond Electronics Corporation, a leading supplier of semiconductor solutions, today announced revenue results for the month of September 2004. Revenue for the month was approximately NT 2.362 billion, a decrease of 4.76 percent when compared with NT 2.480 billion the previous month.
In terms of Logic Products, the demand for Consumer Products and PC peripherals did not meet expectations due to the low seasonal effect and adjustments in customer inventory levels. Therefore, TFT-LCD Driver ICs, and Speech IC shipments decreased accordingly. Memory Products however, were more consistent and sustained last month's revenue results.
Despite the challenging economic downturn in the consumer market, Winbond continues to focus its R&D resources on developing new products as well. Recently, Winbond successfully rolled out a highly advanced Image Signal Processor (ISP) IC applicable to mobile phones. It provides high performance, high quality picture and low power consumption for the mobile phone, and will be available for sampling in October of this year. Mass production is expected in the first quarter of next year. This new product will be a positive addition to the performance of Logic Products.
