(Taipei News) Winbond Electronics Corporation today announced the revenue results for the month of March, 2008. Revenue for the month was NT$ 2.19 billion, an increase of approximately 22.08 percent when compared with NT$ 1.794 billion in the previous month. Accumulated revenue for January to March of 2008 was NT$ 6.569 billion, a decrease of nearly 30.84 percent when compared with NT$ 9.498 billion over the same period in 2007.
The increasing revenue resulted from the recovery in market demand after Chinese New Year holidays. In terms of Logic products, the shipments of desktop I/O and keyboard controller for notebook computer ramped up owning to the seasonal demand. As for Memory products, the Commodity DRAM price has staged a sustainable recovery. The production rate of Specialty DRAM in the 300 mm wafer fab was also encouraged to speed up. Meanwhile, the well market acceptance of Winbond’s new product, the serial Flash with serial peripheral interface (SPI), brought customers’ demands and further contributed to the revenue of this month.
