(Taipei News) Winbond Electronics Corporation today announced the revenue results for the month of December, 2008. Revenue for the month was NT$ 1.083 billion, an increase approximately 8.71 percent when compared with NT$996 million in the previous month. Accumulated revenue for January to December of 2008 was NT$ 21.828 billion.
As customers are continuously cutting their inventory levels, the sales revenue of Flash and Specialty DRAM decreased month-over-month. Despite the global economic slowdown and fierce price competition of the DRAM industry, Winbond continues to make its best efforts to move forward with technology innovation. Thanks to new products of Mobile RAM accepted by customers and growing shipment volumes from the previous month, December monthly revenue was increased. Besides, the Company’s flexible adjustment of production capacity also contributed to the December business.
Due to the annual repairs and Chinese New Year holidays in January, 2009, fewer working days would be expected. The Company has a conservative outlook on next month.
