(Taipei News) Winbond Electronics Corporation today announced the revenue results for the month of February, 2009. Revenue for the month was NT$ 1.058 billion, an increase approximately 7.63 percent when compared with NT$ 983 million in the previous month. Accumulated revenue for January to February of 2009 was NT$ 2.041 billion.
February business grew due to the increasing shipment volumes from niche DRAM products. It had also been driven by efforts to establish the direct sales channel, adjust production capacity flexibly, and boost production of branded products at 300mm wafer fab. In the Mobile RAM and Specialty DRAM segments, shipments increased month-over-month. With needs rebuilding inventories from customers, revenue of NOR Flash also ramped up in February.
Despite the global economic slowdown, Winbond will manage to move forward in the future. As a leading supplier in Specialty RAM and NOR Flash, Winbond will continue to make the best efforts to develop new products and advanced technologies to further strengthen its long-eterm competitive advantages.
