(Taipei News) Winbond Electronics Corporation today announced the revenue results for the month of April, 2009. Revenue for the month was NT$ 1.430 billion, an increase approximately 31.32 percent when compared with NT$ 1.089 billion in the previous month. Accumulated revenue for January to April of 2009 was NT$ 4.560 billion.
Driven by growing demand in China handset market as well as smooth migration to 300mm wafer fab, Mobile RAM business enjoyed a positive growth month over month. In terms of Specialty DRAM and NOR Flash, shipments performed steadily because the demand from China consumer market continued to be strong. As for Commodity DRAM, revenue also ramped up in April attributable to the successful direct selling channels.
Thanks to the rising demand in China consumer market and successful migration to 300mm wafer fab, the Company will hold an optimistic outlook on Specialty DRAM and NOR Flash businesses in the second quarter.
