(Taipei News) Winbond Electronics Corporation today announced the revenue results for the month of May, 2009. Revenue for the month was NT$ 1.369 billion, a decrease approximately 4.31 percent when compared with NT$ 1.430 billion in the previous month. Accumulated revenue for January to May of 2009 was NT$ 5.928 billion.
Thanks to support from customers, revenue of Specialty DRAM enjoyed an obvious growth month over month. However, as shipments in Mobile RAM showed slight decline in May, May business was somewhat decreased from the previous month. As for NOR Flash, sales revenue performed steadily. Commodity DRAM revenue also held steady owing to smooth process migration on 65nm technology and shipment volumes.
Although a few signs of economic stabilization begin emerging attributable to China’s various stimulus programs, whether global semiconductor industry rebounds will depend on demands of the consumer market. Winbond will continue to make its utmost to develop consumer-driven products to achieve a better performance.
