(Taipei News) Winbond Electronics Corporation, a leading supplier of IC product solutions, today announced the revenue results for the month of July 2006. Revenue for the month was NT$2.98 billion, an increase of 5.17 percent, when compared to NT$2.833 billion in the previous month. Accumulated revenue for January to July of 2006 was NT $16.98 billion, an increase of nearly 13.31 percent, when compared with NT $14.99 billion over the same period last year.
Winbond's July revenue continued to be in a growth trend. In terms of Memory Products, as the capacities of 12-inch fab constantly increased, the overall revenue of Memory Products continued to grow. In terms of Logic Products, as the Personal computer has entered its peak season, the revenue of Motherboard Related I/O ICs increased. As to the Consumer Electronics Products, the revenue of Speech ICs and Mobile Handset related ICs also increased; therefore the overall revenue of Logic Products slightly grew.
Looking forward to the third quarter, the demands of the Consumer Electronics Products and Computer related Products are expected to rise because of the back school effects. As the capacities of DRAM Products will continue to be grown, the overall revenue is expected to increase steadily.
